My name is Jake and I’m the founder and author of Jake’s Camera Talk. Photography has always been a passion of mine, ever since I was a kid borrowing my parents’ film cameras.

I started my photography journey shooting with Canon DSLRs over 10 years ago. When Canon first announced the EOS M camera in 2012, I was immediately intrigued by the idea of a smaller, lighter system without compromising on image quality. The M series helped me break into new types of photography like street shooting that were more difficult with a large DSLR.

These days, mirrorless cameras from Canon are my weapons of choice. On this blog, I share my in-depth reviews of the latest M models, tips for getting the most out of your camera, and examples from my own photography.

When I’m not reviewing cameras, you can usually find me wandering the streets of NYC with my M50 in hand. I’m passionate about street, travel, and landscape photography and enjoy capturing the beauty and energy of daily life. My work has been published in several photography magazines and online publications.

In my reviews, I aim to evaluate cameras from both a technical perspective as well as how they feel and perform in real-world shooting. I want to help other Canon mirrorless enthusiasts get the most out of these amazing cameras, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro.
